Aktiv Studios launches new EAC-South Website

ATLANTA — The U.S. Department of Education has selected the Southern Education Foundation (SEF) to receive a five-year, $8.4 million grant to manage the Equity Assistance Center (EAC) for the Southern region of the United States.

In conjunction with Southern Education Foundation, Aktiv Studios was selected as the Atlanta website design and development agency to create the new EAC-South website, a new responsive website that utilizes a dynamic layout and compelling design to create a fresh, intuitive and visually engaging user experience. The website leverages best-practice design trends and an engaging and informative experience that drives visitors to take action.

The new website reinforces the EAC-South brand as a leading public access website committed to advancing equity assistance to help school districts build capacity to confront educational problems occasioned by race, national origin, sex and gender, and religion. Aktiv worked with the Southern Education Foundation to refine an intuitive information architecture that drives users to content that is most relevant to them. The website adheres to brand standards and include enhancements to usability where appropriate, retaining content aimed at delivering the most up-to-date information about EAC-South’s four equity areas of focus.

The new website was developed in Wordpress and showcases content and tools in an intuitive navigation and search, including news, articles, toolkits, e-courses, videos, webinars, podcasts, events. It was developed to be SEO-friendly along with W3C and 508 & WCAG compliance.
