Aktiv Studios redesigned a website for a pest control company. After a kick-off meeting and discussing the project goals, they delivered mock-ups, wireframes, and a full-fledged WordPress site. The website would be created to increase leads for both residential and commercial clients as well as provide many educational resources.

According to BugBustersUSA.com, Aktiv Studios is a five star company that proved their reliability by delivering a new site and receiving positive feedback from users. Through this work, they have built a proven data protection system specifically for the unique challenges of backing up critical, confidential data.

Project

Aktiv Studios was engaged to design and develop a sleek and visually engaging mobile-up responsive website. The primary goal was to change focus from products to what we do, clearly articulating their value propositions to our target audience of government entities, clerks, educational sectors and strategic partners. Promote the VaultTek brand through an industry-leading web presence, integrating the new branding and brand assets.

Impact

Aktiv Studios designed and developed a new website that exceeded all stakeholders expectations. During the beginning of the process Aktiv realized they would need to bring on one of their trusted copywriters, leap creative services, to help refine their messaging and communicate their brand proposition. Southern Education Foundation

Overview

The Southern Education Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation created in 1937 from four different funds — the Peabody Education Fund, the John F. Slater Fund, the Negro Rural School Fund, and the Virginia Randolph Fund. Their main goal is to promote quality education for traditionally disadvantaged students, including the poor and African Americans.

Project

Aktiv redesigned and developed the Southern Education Foundation website reinforcing the brand as a leading non-profit organization committed to advancing equitable education policies and practices. Aktiv worked with SEF to refine an intuitive information architecture that drives users to content that is most relevant to them. The website enhanced the look-and-feel of the previous site and includes many enhancements to usability and administration, delivering the most up-to-date information about Southern Education policies and legislation.

Impact

From the client: "The entire rebuild was a complex project, but Aktiv Studios was able to successfully implement upgraded features and streamline the UX, much to the delight of the foundation. Christopher's Bakery

Overview

Christopher's Bakery is a bakery with a purpose. It was started by Courtney Harris, whose younger brother Christopher, was diagnosed with Epilepsy shortly after birth. The company specializes in baked goods such as muffins, cookies, cupcakes, and more. Christopher's Bakery also supports the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and the Miami Children’s Health Foundation to fundraise and support research around the world.

Project

Aktiv was tasked to create a multi-channel e-commerce solution that would allow Christopher's Bakery to take and manage orders from each of its locations. The website also needed to be responsive, easy to navigate and order, and findable on search engines.

Impact

Aktiv designed and developed a custom WordPress solution that integrated BigCommerce's headless multi-channel e-commerce functionality. The new site design is clean, responsive, and accessible and allows customers to place orders easier than ever before. The site has been featured on news programs and in local magazines in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and drives traffic and donations for Epilepsy research.

CRS Supply is the go-to supplier for commercial and residential roofing materials. Built on a foundation of quality products, a knowledgeable staff, and unmatched service, CRS™ has proven itself to be roofing contractors’ first and only choice for all their roofing needs.

Project

Aktiv was engaged to redevelop the CRS website. The previous version of the company's website was not responsive, difficult to manage, and cumbersome to update without breaking old features. The client desired a website that was responsive, accessible, and fast, all while maintaining or/enhancing existing functionality.

Impact

Aktiv integrated the new site with WordPress and WooCommerce into a new responsive layout while enhancing the speed, SEO, and accessibility of the website. The new site is faster, and accessible across all devices from small phones, to tablets and desktops. Visitors can browse CRS Supply's entire catalog in a semantic navigation structure as well as search and filter products quickly and easily. Aktiv was engaged to develop a new featured project website for a new complex called 240 Pennant Point. The new website would need to highlight its strategic location near the entertainment, dining and sports complex, The Battery Atlanta™, and in the heart of the Cumberland/Galleria submarket. The 25,000 SF boutique office building is visible, walkable and designed to enhance your work/life synergy.

Impact

Aktiv integrated the new site with the WordPress CMS, creating an optimized and W3C compliant web presence which matches the look and feel of the Pope & Land brand. nMotion Physical Therapy was founded in Alpharetta, GA, 2007. The co-founders created a rehab environment that is patient focused, fun, and provided quick, effective results.

Aktiv Studios was engaged to design a new website to reinforce the nMotion brand as a leading physical and occupational therapy practice in the metro Atlanta area. Goals included highlighting the unique patient focused, not injury focused methodology, and the brand story that differentiates nMotion from its competition. Impact

The following week after the launch of the new website the nMotion website ranked higher in search results due to Aktiv’s SEO strategy. The exposure and ease of use led to new online appointments that had not previously been matched. Prior to this project, the restaurant had no web presence but was highly acclaimed by food critics, as well as known locally as a great place to hang out and listen to live jazz or spend your Sunday morning for brunch. Aktiv was engaged to create an engaging and informative experience that is easy to navigate as it is to update and communicate their style, story, cuisine, and events.

MyronMixon.com and JacksOldSouth.com were built several years ago prior to responsive websites. The shopping experience was developed on an unsupported custom-built platform that had become unscalable. Aktiv was brought in to consult on a new strategy and create a newly rebranded website with an integrated e-commerce solution that could scale with the future.

Impact

The new MyronMixon.com replaced both older websites and now showcases their innovative design, featuring a responsive Wordpress and WooCommerce shopping experience. Overview

Introduced in 1977 by President Jimmy Carter, Friendship Force International consists of 16,000 members across 63 countries aimed at spreading friendship worldwide through travel exchanges and cultural immersion programs.

Project

In anticipation of a re-branding effort and the launch of their highly anticipated website redesign, Friendship Force international approached Aktiv to build a platform to allow them to collect user-submitted stories about how their exchanges have impacted the lives of individuals around the world.

Impact

The responsive microsite for the Stories of Friendship initiative was a massive success, allowing user-submitted stories and imagery to be captured worldwide through the website translation and social marketing campaigns. The website provided a simple to use platform for writing stories and attaching files, removing common barriers to submission. Social campaigns drove awareness and the campaign was so successful Friendship Force is planning to add more functionality and expand their campaign into additional languages.

SouthCrest Bank is one of the oldest banks in the country, in service for over 100 years in Georgia and Alabama. SouthCrest is a full-service retail bank offering consumer and commercial loans, checking, savings, credit cards, online banking, bill pay, and investments.

Project

SouthCrest Bank is a forward thinking institution with deep roots. As such, they knew that the would need to couple a responsive website with modern services like online banking if they wanted to remain relevant. At the same time, they did not want a major redesign to alienate their loyal customers. That required an update to their technology while staying true to their roots.

Impact

After conducting an extensive discovery workshop aimed to identifying the needs of SouthCrest’s target audiences and current clients. This information was used to build a responsive .Net website that spoke to both audiences, and featured a complete set of online banking tools, allowing SouthCrest to break into new markets without alienating their users.

Since 1870, Simmons has been a pioneering mattress brand aimed at transforming the way we sleep. One of the leading mattress manufacturers in the world, Simmons’ brands are still evolving to provide their customers more comfort at a better value.

Simmons needed a web-tool to help train and educate mattress store employees on their products; helping retail store employees on tablets locate and sell products that will serve the needs of their customers for years to come.

Our strategic partner Media Frenzy had started a re-messaging project with their client Pyramid. They came to us as a partner to work with both teams to redesign a website that was not effectively communicating their value proposition.

NAUI

Overview

NAUI, or The National Association of Underwater Instructors, is a global scuba diving organization focusing on providing the highest quality training and education to divers around the world. NAUI membership is exclusive to highly trained diving professionals and dive shop owners, but their training and courses are available to anyone interested in the sport of scuba diving.

Project

NAUI required a complete responsive redesign of their marketing website, a re-development of their huge database and an overhaul of their account management, member services and eLearning functionality. NAUI also wanted to 2 completely new additions to their web presence: mobile applications for Android and iOS, and a full-featured eCommerce implementation.

Impact

Breaking this huge Umbraco project into multiple phases, went to market with a website to positive feedback from the diving community. The site is fully responsive, and has brought NAUI to the forefront of the diving world with a stunning design, resources for divers and Umbraco CMS for easy updates. eCommerce, eLearning, member services, Android and iOS apps are all currently in development.

Overview

Meybohm Realtors is the #1 real estate firm in the CSRA, and has continued to grow steadily since it’s incorporation in 1977. Meybohm has offices throughout Augusta, Georgia and Aiken, South Carolina, and lists many of the most elite homes in those markets.

Project

Meybohm had initially hired another prominent firm to build a brand-new web platform that would include a redesigned responsive website, a portal for realtor's and a zillow-like experience for displaying MLS listings. About ½ way through that process, the firm could not meet Meybohm’s needs, so they decided to redesign the site and properly integrate a the platform.

Impact

With phase 1 completed, Meybohm is proud to showcase their responsive website featuring a property finder, impactful calls to action, an easy to use sign-up, account tools, property saving, custom analytics, events and an extensive listing filter.

Mission Communications

Overview

Mission Communications was the first and one of the largest companies in supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) for water and wastewater monitoring for municipalities across America. Along with services of monitoring, control, databasing, and automated notifications, Mission Communications also manufacturers a catalog of products to support SCADA services.

Project

Mission Communications contracted Aktiv to completely overhaul the information architecture, design and back-end for their website. The website had hundreds of pages consisting of product pages, services, and support pages, but very little of a brand presence or concise messaging.

Impact

Along with a brand overhaul, the site is easily managed in a custom Wordpress integration. The site is much easier to navigate and now has dedicated landing pages that effectively communicate what SCADA is and why Mission Communications is the best choice for a managed solution with calls-to-action that speak to their target audience.

Founded in 1946, Kelly-Moore Paints’ mission is to provide high quality, innovative products with exceptional service at a fair value. Kelly-Moore Paints is an employee-owned company whose American-made paints are found at retailers throughout the country.

Kelly-Moore Paints had a non-responsive website, and their analytics revealed an increasing number of mobile visitors. As complaints about the website grew, Kelly-Moore approached us to remedy the situation with a responsive redesign and .NET CMS integration.

Impact

The response to the redesign was so positive that Kelly-Moore hired us on retainer to continue to work on the website monthly through ongoing design, development and marketing support. New phases were added that included a homepage update, how-to videos, landing pages, custom analytics events, news/events, SalesForce integration and billpay support.

Holiday Inn Express is a nationwide hotel chain within the IHG family of brands. Designed for the smart traveler, Holiday Inn Express means clean, consistent, and comfortable rooms wherever you go. It’s everything you need in a hotel and nothing you don’t.

Project

The Architecture and Design department of IHG had an a series of design submittal forms and documents that did not properly represent the brand or information that needed to be provided to the owners design teams.

Impact

Aktiv redesigned and updated multi-page interactive PDF's with Adobe InDesign. These were updated with brand standards and redesigned for increased usability and scalability, leading to submittals being efficiently maintained and standardizing the approval process.

IngevityToday

Overview

Ingevity, an independent company that was originally the specialty chemicals branch of the WestRock Company, provides specialty chemicals and high-performance carbon materials and technologies to help customers solve complex problems in products like adhesives, asphalt, oil, lubrication, automotive parts and inks.

Project

In anticipation of its separation from the WestRock Company, Ingevity needed an intranet platform to manage employee benefits, payroll, investments, vacation, etc. as soon as it was legally separated. In addition to the need for an independent system, Ingevity also wanted to solve many of the problems that had plagued their previous intranet.

Impact

After a thorough examination of all the third-party services involved, a custom custom intranet platform that provided a single sign-on experience to all employee services was developed. This was coupled with an extensive database of internal employee training materials and contact information to provide a comprehensive platform for all employee needs.

Double Eagle Distributing is an exclusive beverage distributor in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Formed in 1984 to provide a quality experience in beverage distribution, it was awarded both Anheuser-Busch InBev’s top performers and the Ambassador of Excellence gold distinction.

Project

Double Eagle needed a way to highlight three core components of their company: what they do, how they do it, and the products they offer. After feedback from their clients revealed their website was frustrating to use, they wanted to create a website that wowed visitors, told their story, and showcased the range of beverages they offer in an interactive way.

Impact

Built in Sitefinity CMS, the new Double Eagle website is fully responsive, and immerses visitors by highlighting their facilities, showcasing their process and telling their story. The website includes a fully functional beverage search feature paired with a beverage filter that allows users to quickly sort the available products for beverages that fit their unique needs.

The Decathlon

Overview

The Decathlon’s participants take the athletic and fund raising challenge very seriously, matching the founder's passion for athletic competition and performance-based fund raising.

Project

Since the project was succeeding in it's goals, along with a fully featured registration system with timed-based functionality for betting and event tracking, the Decathlon also needed a professional new identity, including logo, styles, and iconography.

Impact

We made registering an easy and fun multi-step wizard. After registration was closed, we rolled out the donation portion of the site. Sponsors were incorporated. This was the first year that betting donations were involved. New tools were developed to show potential donation limits. To foster executive competition we decided to have multiple age groupings, with winners in each and an exclusive the Executive level. Each group would have top overall athlete, top event athlete and top fund raiser. To foster competition among the firms we decided to have matchup bets of firm against firm and inter-firm rivalries.

The day of the event the new website raised $499,244.00 in donations.

CompTIA

Overview

“Advancing the Global IT Industry”, the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), is a non-profit trade association created in 1982. CompTIA is a provider of membership, education, certifications, philanthropy and public advocacy for the IT industry.

Project

CompTIA's goal was to create a visually engaging Hall of Fame website to highlight both inductees and information technology advances through the decades. This design would feature strong, crisp images, interactivity, scroll-based animations, parallax and other design techniques that engage users and drive interest.

Impact

Built in Umbraco, CompTIA’s new IT Hall of Fame site engages visitors through narrative storytelling, modern design and interactive UX techniques. The website is the focal point of the brand-new main lobby at the CompTIA corporate offices, and was designed to match the decor and color scheme of the central foyer where it is on display as a large-format touchscreen monitor that is both a screensaver and interactive kiosk for guests.

Calhoun County

Overview

The Calhoun County Economic Development Council is focused on bringing new business to Calhoun County and helping existing businesses thrive. They provide tax incentive information, identify growth opportunities, coordinate partnerships and provide training programs.

Project

The Calhoun County EDC competes on a global level to bring business to their county, and needed a way to promote themselves online. Since their previous website was outdated and very difficult to navigate, they were not able to properly showcase their available properties, putting them at a competitive disadvantage.

Impact

A fully-responsive parallax website in Wordpress provides the EDC with a modern design they are proud to show potential clients. The website is integrated with the WordPress CMS to allow them to update and manage the website internally; and includes a featured properties section so the EDC can promote specific properties as they see fit.

Brightlink Communications

Overview

Brightlink IP is a premiere IP communications provider delivering backbone services to enterprises and carriers. Brightlink IP is one of the largest IP based communications providers in the world supporting billions of interactions each month.

Project

After being acquired by communications giant PGI, Brightlink needed a modern responsive website that would allow them to showcase their current and future technologies.

Impact

Brightlink has a responsive website that employs clean photography paired with small chunks of information that help communicate its offerings to its customers in an effective manner. The website is integrated with the Wordpress CMS and has many custom built components such as our popular STAX layout functionality.

Aristotle Center

Overview

The Aristotle Center is an interdisciplinary academic forum for exploring the connections between the sciences and the humanities, bridging the growing academic gap between these disciplines.

Project

The Aristotle Center, a new institution located at Emory and Henry College, enlisted Aktiv to build them a new modern prototype website that showcases the organization and its academic material. The site uses text, video, and podcasts to foster a connection between the religious and scientific communities and provide resources for academics studying both.

Impact

The Aristotle Center a web presence that they use to demonstrate their vision on a small scale while pursuing additional funding to build out their full platform. The website provides the Center the ability to host podcasts, videos, lesson plans, articles, papers and other material for the academic community.

Overview

Since 2001, Advocate has been providing expert knowledge that can only come with being fully immersed in the technology business industry. Advocate offers expanded services businesses need to transform technology investments and discover growth opportunities.

Project

Strategic partner Atomic Wash engaged Aktiv to develop a new website for Advocate. The project would refresh their website and create a more engaging user experience. The main goal was to create a website they could showcase during events.

Impact

Driven by a custom Wordpress integration, the websites new responsive flex-grid layout creates a impact with new custom animated design elements and a very engaging user experience. The website has many calls-to-action, downloadable case studies and integrated CRM forms to increase it's ROI.

American Dairy Goat Association

Overview

ADGA's promotes the dairy goat industry by providing and circulating sound information about goats and goats' milk, maintaining and publishing herd books and production records of milk goats, and issuing certificates of registration and recordation.

Project

Although ADGA was already offering their users a wide range of member services, they wanted to find additional efficiencies in their processes, and create a more streamlined experience for users. To accomplish this, the web-based business applications were redesigned with a common design and modern technical architecture. The applications were then integrated into the existing websites security infrastructure.

Impact

Both end-user and internal technical support costs have decreased as member satisfaction has increased as a result of the redesign. Members have tools that are more functional and easier to use.

Action Tire Company

Overview

Action Tire Company is a 30-year-old American family-owned corporation. Specializing in industrial retreads, Action Tire Company provides tire sales and services in 12 locations across Georgia and Alabama for a variety of tire sizes from lawn mower, boat trailer, forklift, R.V., car, truck and off the road tires.

Project

Action Tire approached the Aktiv because its website was unresponsive and using outdated technology and irrelevant content. The wanted to have a CMS driven website where they could keep their multiple services updated with pricing and descriptions. They also needed to display where they are located with service locations and ranges to portray their slogan of any-time, anyplace “Call Action for Satisfaction” to get your business rolling!

Impact

Determined to put Action Tire at the top of their industry, we built a custom Wordpress responsive website with a modern design that works great on mobile devices and detailed landing pages for each service as well as a complete resource library to help educate their visitors. Aktiv created a callout strategy to promote their location finder, services, and tires.
